About
“I create art with the absence of active thought to show that art is just about getting something out of yourself. It’s a process of transmuting energy. Sometimes your soul just wants to speak in ways that the human language cannot express.
My works represent letting go of self-consciousness, coming back into the essence of creation, and realizing how beautiful that is.”
Angela Su (b. 1990) is a self-directed visual artist based in Southern California. She began drawing in childhood and received her first art award while in grade school. In 2021, she turned her focus to abstract expressionism, developing a painting practice guided by intuition rather than preconceived ideas.
Working without narrative or premeditation, her paintings are guided by presence and openness. Rather than offering fixed meaning or interpretation, her work invites viewers into a direct, personal experience. Each painting develops through an intuitive process, free from predetermined outcomes, allowing color, form, and movement to emerge naturally.
Her work has been exhibited internationally in galleries and museums.
