About
“I create art without active thought, allowing each work to emerge directly from instinct and intuition. My paintings are a process of transmuting energy—a way for the inner self to express what words cannot. They explore the release of self-consciousness and a return to the essence of creation, revealing the beauty inherent in that pure, unmediated act.”
Angela Su (b. 1990) is a self-directed visual artist based in Southern California. A lifelong creative, she began drawing in childhood and received her first art award while in grade school. In 2021, she shifted her focus to painting in the style of abstract expressionism, allowing her practice to evolve intuitively rather than conceptually.
Working without narrative or premeditation, her paintings emphasize presence and emergence. Rather than offering fixed meaning or interpretation, the work invites direct experience.
Her work has been exhibited internationally in galleries and museums.
